Funerals

FlowersA personal funeral ceremony for a close relative or friend can be a wonderful way of saying your final farewell. It can be totally non religious or involve a little religion. I offer to conduct the ceremony in the way you or your loved one would like it to be carried out.

You, other family members, friends, or even work colleagues, can take part in the ceremony if you wish. You may even want to conduct the ceremony yourselves, but have me standing by to take over in case you are unable to continue.

Ceremonies may be conducted in many different places such as crematoriums, cemeteries, club rooms, nature reserves and woodland burial sites and even your own home.

During my nursing career I dealt with death and the bereaved on a day to day basis. From stillborn babies to death of those who have reached the grand age of 100. If you would like me to officiate at your loved ones funeral you can request your Funeral Director to contact me, or else you can contact me direct with your plans, including the date and time of the funeral and where it will be held. There are many ways in which we can discuss the details for the ceremony – Initially, preferably by a home visit then by telephone, email, or fax.

The Civil Funeral Ceremony allows the freedom to make a range of choices about the content and style of the Ceremony. As a Funeral Celebrant, I can help you arrange a well-planned and meaningful ceremony to honour the beliefs and individuality of your loved one.

I am able to meet you in your home or my office, to discuss the ceremony details. If required I will write a personal eulogy that will be a warm and loving tribute. I have suggestions for music, poetry and readings that will be appropriate for your loved one's personality and spiritual beliefs.

I am aware that my first contact with you comes at a time that is probably difficult and painful. Together we will be able to create a beautiful and fitting funeral service for your loved one. Far from being sombre and sad, the Ceremonies I create are positive and uplifting - because they focus on life and not on death. Each ceremony I conduct is individually written from start to finish, honouring the person who has died, in a dignified and fitting tribute, focusing on everything that made them special and unique.

You may include more unusual ways of marking your loss that are meaningful to you and inclusive of everyone. This makes each ceremony different and individual. This maybe by releasing white doves or balloons after the service.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to arrange for an obligation free initial consultation.
